Ironton Forge began with humble beginnings in 1994 as West Texas Forge in Midland, Texas. The following years saw its services evolve from horseshoeing and forging accent pieces for restaurant chains to providing original architectural ironwork and furniture.
In 1999, the prospect of custom ironwork in the high-end resort market brought the company to Western Colorado, where the surrounding mountains provided inspiration now evident in the company's Timberland Lighting collection. A growing interest in and reverence for the early 20th century work of Samuel Yellin, the Roycrofters and Gustav Stickley also inspired the Old World Collection during the Colorado years.
A specialization in lighting and fireplace doors precipitated the launching of a website and expansion to a nationwide market in late 2004. As the company experienced rapid growth, the operations were relocated to a larger facility in beautiful Bigfork, Montana. Recently Ironton Forge has made its final move to the quaint, small town of Mason, Texas.
As a modern day blacksmith shop, we take great pride in the fact that we forge all of our own blacksmith tools (i.e. tongs, punches, drifts and hammers), which are used in the making of each piece. Over the years, the ironwork of Ironton Forge has been seen in many magazines. However, we are pleased to announce our ironwork can also be viewed in Ann Stillman O'Leary's new book, Rustic Revisited. A beautiful coffee table book featuring some of the most unique lodge style homes to be found.
